Well as promised, we’re back in Wharfedale, pulling together the many threads of Helen & Luke’s relationship as they tie the knot.
They’d planned such a lovely intimate day, beginning perfectly in the cosy ceremony room of The Priest’s House, but then allowing them immediate access to the expansive dales, just up the hilly roads.
A beautiful backdrop for the newly wed couple to have a moment alone.
And great fun flying back down in the 1968 Jaguar Mk ii!
You can see all the fellas peering over the wall for a look at that gorgeous classic car… and a few lucky loved ones got a ride in it as well thanks to the kindness of their chauffeur from Superior Motor Cars.
Back on the sunny lawns surrounding Barden Tower, guests made friends with the neighbouring ducks, and settling into the marquee, discovered Luke’s brilliant sketches of the locals landmarks, besides the sweet cartography hearts hung up the central garlands. Their stunning cake even caught the attention of the resident Head Chef Mark, with it’s intricate sugar flowers crafted by their very talented and generous friends, Simon & Denise Bedford. Meanwhile, a fair bit of hilarity was had with a spontaneous and all inclusive pass the pigs twist on the traditional bouquet toss, since Helen’s silk flowers were really too good to risk damaging!
As the party kicked off inside and the night closed in, a kind fate finally allowed the storm that had been forecast to make it’s start, and I caught the glow of lightning over Barden Tower’s impressive ruin.
