It’s not far off now until I’ll be wishing a very happy first anniversary to this awesome couple, Hilary and Mike, whose wedding I shockingly haven’t shared yet in my journal.
This time last year brought us a beautiful day for their ecstatic and free-spirited wedding. Amazing energy just overflowed from the start of the day, with all friends and family involved in this colourful, DIY celebration. The day’s venue, Left Bank Leeds, was decorated with bright clusters of origami flowers and twinkling lights, and yet more colour was poured along the aisle as guests threw the most confetti I’ve ever seen at the end of their ceremony!
Throughout the wedding breakfast an array of talented friends entertained their guests as well, until, in place of a traditional “first dance”, a cute little performance from the couple themselves saw us into the evening. They then had a lively ceilidh, led by the Ermine Street band, to close the night and gather everybody up to dance… and I remember how lovely it was to see the shared contentedness and union of this pair as they watched on.
Have a look for yourself and I’m sure you’ll feel the joy!
