Since the year is nearly drawing to it’s end, I just had to make sure I shared this last wedding with you…
It was such a joy to be asked by my cousin Jonathan and his partner Sarah to do their wedding photography – what a great way to get to know all their wonderful extended family!
Jon’s roots have long been nestled in Rutland, and following family tradition they returned St Peter’s Church in Brooke for their service, bringing the first wedding celebration of the year to this tiny, beautiful hamlet.
We were treated to a gorgeous autumnal day, which made for fun drives around Rutland Water in the Father of the Groom’s vintage Volvo, and the shiny new Aston Martin, both generously lent out for the wedding.
Arriving at Normanton Park, guests discovered the amazing wedding cake, built from wheels of cheese by the knowledgeable hands at Otters Deli in Oakham. I couldn’t wait to sample those later in the evening!
Then following on from some touching and hilarious speeches, Sarah & Jon managed to sneak out to enjoy a moment of quiet together besides the water, just as the sun melted away and a little mist began to settle.
The whole day pulled together so well. Everyone was in high spirits for a lively evening spent with their friend’s band The Naughty Step playing their favourite songs, and everyone getting involved with the dancing. I couldn’t have wished for a better day for them!
